We hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! Me, the husband, mom & Evan all went up to San Francisco to Clayton’s aunt’s house for a massive delicious feast. The following day we took our annual trip to Frosty’s Tree Farm to pick out our trees! This is one of my absolute favorite family traditions. It’s crazy to think that next year we’ll have our little 9 month old daughter with us! I couldn’t stop imagining what it will be like next year. Can’t wait!
25 weeks btw – only 3 1/2 months to go!!
We searched for the perfect tree with our hot cocoa in hand. It was such a gorgeous sunny day, it was almost too hot for the cocoa.
Mom checking out the trees.. growing up, she would always pick out the funniest trees! She has a strange affinity for the underdog half balding trees LOL.
Clayton cutting down our massive tree! We didn’t think about measuring it before hand and I swear the tree was about 9 feet tall!! Our ceilings are only 8 feet, so we had to chop off some of the top to make it fit in the living room LOL. What were we thinking?! We’re nuts.
Clayton & Evan with our trees! Mom’s on the right, ours is on the left. We picked out almost identical trees.
The rest of the 4 day weekend was spent doing a little Christmas shopping, decorating the tree, gardening (by mom), movies in front of the fire & lots of lounging around.
I love long weekends. What sort of family traditions does your family do around this time of year?
XO, Melissa & Virginia
