Happy Sunday

Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!

I turned 35 weeks on Friday. Only 5 more to go!!

20130203-143837.jpg

I’m finally starting to feel like I’m getting a handle on everything that needs to be done before our girl arrives. This week we DIYed her crib skirt, bought an BMW X5 (yayyyy!! I’m obsessed) & saw our doctor. The dr says she is head down & very very active! Baby girl’s heart sounded strong and fast. She kicked the dr a couple times.

Now all that’s left to do is finish planning the shower & finish my baby reading! We are having a kind of “welcome to the world” shower for baby girl in May so all of our friends and family can meet our munch.

Hopefully this week, I’ll share some of our maternity shoot photos!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday – GO NINERS!!!

Happy holidays from us

This is the time of year I really enjoy sharing all the accomplishments and events we’ve experienced throughout the year, both personal and in business.

The most exciting thing I want to share with you – as I’m sure you already know, is that Melissa is going to be a mommy in March of 2013!!  Yes, I will be a “Grammy” once again. Can’t wait to meet my new baby grand daughter!

We have had a very good business year and the Real Estate market is absolutely on fire.

One of our recent listings had 20 offers and sold for $72,000 over the asking price!! The crazy market is back.

I am so proud of the teamwork we have established in our business which contributes to our success in a big way.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in 2013.

We hope Santa brings you all you want this holiday season.

As always, we thank you for your continued support and choosing us to help you with all of your Real Estate needs. Thank you for all your generous referrals!

Nursery + baby update

After searching Craigslist for a couple of months, I finally found the perfect dresser for the nursery. This will also double as her changing table.

dresser2

I have such a thing for well made antique & vintage furniture. The only thing I’m not completely loving about this piece is that the top is laminate. So I’ll probably prime it with some Linsser primer & then paint over. While I’m at it, I was thinking about doing a stencil on the top part too. Kind of like the quatrefoil stencil I did on our antique buffet. Honestly though, I might just keep it the way it is.

gold antique hardwareI’m so in love with the original antique gold hardware

drwers openSurprisingly the drawers don’t stick or get jammed. They slide out like butter! This piece was made by Morris of California. They are known for their smooth sliding drawers. So if you love vintage furniture, but hate the sticking drawers, search for one of these.

Above her changing table, I plan to make a gallery wall out of gold frames & other accents. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

***Baby Update***

I’m officially in the 3rd & final trimester!! We have 90 days to go. I can’t wait to meet this daughter of ours!

27 weeks

We had a doctor’s appointment last week & everything is right on track

Current cravings: candy canes & lemon water

Current weight gain: 24 pounds

Current annoyances: not being able to take my shoes on & off without it feeling like a workout, occasional lower backaches

Things I miss: caffeine, wine, sleeping on my stomach, sleeping through the night & not having to pee 8 times a night (NOT an exaggeration)

Things I’m loving: All the kicking from my baby – except when she is stomping on my bladder in the middle of the night. ouch! Having dinner made for me & house cleaning done by my favorite carpet cleaning sunnyvale! He has been so helpful & incredibly sweet throughout the pregnancy. Love him!!!

Our Thanksgiving weekend

We hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! Me, the husband, mom & Evan all went up to San Francisco to Clayton’s aunt’s house for a massive delicious feast. The following day we took our annual trip to Frosty’s Tree Farm to pick out our trees! This is one of my absolute favorite family traditions. It’s crazy to think that next year we’ll have our little 9 month old daughter with us! I couldn’t stop imagining what it will be like next year. Can’t wait!

25 weeks btw – only 3 1/2 months to go!!

We searched for the perfect tree with our hot cocoa in hand. It was such a gorgeous sunny day, it was almost too hot for the cocoa.

Mom checking out the trees.. growing up, she would always pick out the funniest trees! She has a strange affinity for the underdog half balding trees LOL.

Clayton cutting down our massive tree! We didn’t think about measuring it before hand and I swear the tree was about 9 feet tall!! Our ceilings are only 8 feet, so we had to chop off some of the top to make it fit in the living room LOL. What were we thinking?! We’re nuts.

Clayton & Evan with our trees! Mom’s on the right, ours is on the left. We picked out almost identical trees.

We had the best time!

The rest of the 4 day weekend was spent doing a little Christmas shopping, decorating the tree, gardening (by mom), movies in front of the fire & lots of lounging around.
I love long weekends. What sort of family traditions does your family do around this time of year?

Merry Christmas!

Exciting News!!

Well we’re back from our hiatus! It’s been almost 5 months since my last post ekks. I’ll admit I definitely dropped the ball on the blogging front. The real estate market finally heat up and we became insanely busy this past summer.

AND… my husband & I found out that I am PREGNANT!!!

Frank announced the news to all our Facebook friends hehe 🙂

We found out on July 5th that I was 5 weeks pregnant. Couldn’t be happier!

I scheduled an early sonogram on my birthday so we could find out the baby’s sex & IT’S A GIRL!! It was funny because I was 100% convinced I was having a boy for some reason. Maybe it was those stupid chinese baby gender predictor tests I kept doing online lol. We were both in shock & so incredibly happy to find out we are having a baby girl. It was what we both really really wanted.

My mom was just dying for me to have a little girl.. so you can only imagine how exciting it was to share the news with her. She was the first person we called.

Here she is at 16 weeks

I’ll be 23 weeks (5 1/2 months) tomorrow & I’m due on March 8th.

Here’s her little feets!

It’s been an amazing experience. I had no real morning sickness, except in the beginning & that was just nausea in the mornings. So I really lucked out with the pregger symptoms.

We can’t wait to meet our daughter! Here’s the latest belly shot – at 22 weeks + 5 days pregnant

I really look forward to getting back to blogging & keeping you all updated with our personal & business lives. I have definitely missed it.

As always let us know if you need any real estate help, suggestions or advice. We’re always here to help!

Warm Wishes,

Melissa & Virginia

V-day Highlights

Yesterday was amazing! Clay & I had such a good time making dinner together and relaxing.. it was so romantic.

He had these beauties delivered to the house along with chocolates.. he is the best!

We made short ribs + veggies (slow cooked for 8 hours), shallot mashed potatoes, asparagus, crescent rolls (my fav) and pink champagne! For dessert: homemade carmel heath bar crunch gelato + red velvet cupcakes.

Quite possibly the best short ribs we have ever had!

Our cute place settings 🙂

❤ Cutest husband ❤

We ended the night relaxing by a fire, drinking wine & watching The Bachelor – Best night ever!! And yes my man likes The Bachelor. Lucky me!

What did you do for Valentine’s Day? Did you go out to dinner or keep it low key like us?

My weekend + Our living room before & after pics!!

I had such an amazing weekend! I spent Saturday with a couple of friends up in Sonoma. One of my bffs Allison & wedding vendor friends Erin & Yasmin were putting on a wedding event/fair called the Lab Event at Cline Cellars Winery – which just so happened to be right across the street from where we got married! This event was unlike any wedding fair I’d ever been to. It was honestly more like a party than anything else. Great food. great wine. dancing. fashion show + all the pretty wedding details made by local wedding vendors. The girls did an incredible job! Honestly it kind of made me want to re-plan my wedding. Well……… not really. Ha!

Now on to our living room update  – as promised I took some much better pictures of our living room!!

Well let me first remind you what the living room used to look like

{BEFORE}
Notice the horrific ceiling fan in the mirror.

{AFTER}

Ta-dah!! The sofa is from Zgallerie – Oscar Sofa, vintage chandelier is from the Alameda Point Antique Faire – $70

Bronze nailhead trim & turned legs

If you are considering the Oscar Sofa for your home, I definitely recommend it. It’s timeless, chic and oh so glamorous! The soft cushy pillows make it ridiculously comfortable. This is the perfect couch if you are looking for pretty & practical (well besides the white fabric.)

We painted the aqua accent wall with Benjamin Moore’s Bird’s Egg. For the sunburst mirror DIY click here + my picture frame gallery wall DIY here.

Modern Linen beige tufted lounge chairs are from Overstock – Super comfortable, in case you were wondering!

Waterfall glass coffee table by Viva Modern is from Ebay

Lattice grey rug is from Pottery Barn Teen. Who would have thought?!

I spray painted this metal table from Pier One with Rust-oleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint

This is what it looked like before

This gorgeous shabby chic Pottery Barn inspired mantel was made by my bff Lizzie & her incredibly talented husband

I purchased this mirrored silver side table from TJ Maxx 4 years ago! It’s crazy how a gorgeous sofa can make everything in the living room suddenly look 100 times better.

I spray painted the vintage milk bottle my mom gave me (she was about to throw them out!) The wood flowers are from my wedding bouquet

So now I’m thinking about getting a mirrored chest of drawers for the corner by the gallery wall. It’s so bare over there.. plus it would be nice to have some extra storage (opps, sorry for the crooked pic!)

I’m thinking something like this

{Via Pinterest}

Thoughts? I could always go the less expensive route – Find something on Craigslist, paint & update the hardware. I just can’t stop thinking about the mirrored chest of drawers! So damn gorg. We’ll see.

A Few Glamorous Additions

Happy almost New Year! We hope you all had an incredible Christmas filled with love, friends & family. We sure did! I just thought I’d give you the update on some new additions to the living room. If you follow me on Pinterest then you know I have been obsessing over these glass waterfall coffee tables for months now.

So for Christmas, Virginia surprised me with this beautiful glass waterfall table!!! I am IN LOVE. Thanks Mommy!!

The table is by Viva Modern – she got it on Ebay here.

You might also notice those gorgeous tufted linen chairs my Hubby got  from Overstock. These were also on my Christmas wishlist.

Oh and our Oscar Sofa from ZGallerie came too! You like?

and.. look who’s already breaking in the new couch 🙂

I will be taking better photos of the entire room real soon! This is just a teaser. Stay tuned..

Happy New Year to you all!
